Driftwood, Framed Textile Lichen Study

A beautiful small study by textile artist Ally Harper. We love how she has stitched into the driftwood and created a dramatic knot of black treads and steel wire hanging down, alongside a perfectly formed circle of French knots.

We think this piece looks great framed alongside David Knight’s work, but we can also imagine it in a modern home displayed alongside collections of objects people have gathered from natural surroundings.
