Lucie Sivicka

Lucie Sivicka is a Czech potter, now living in Penzance with her family, and working from her studio in nearby Newlyn.

Lucie’s love of pottery has spanned the last 20 years, having studied at the Czech Republic’s premiere art and ceramic school in the small town of Bechyne for four years before going on to make pottery in Prague for various companies. Whilst building her own practice, Lucie also worked with NGOs in the Czech Republic, making pottery items with the elderly in hospitals, doing workshops for children in orphanages and in special needs schools.

Lucie has fallen in love with the Cornish coast and its communities. Her pottery is inspired by the outdoor swimmers seen across the Penzance and the Newlyn coastline. She loves illustrating little stories to make people smile.

Lucie’s pots are mostly different styles of mugs, vases, and wind chimes featuring swimmer designs and her very popular seal and whale designs, using lovely turquoise and navy glazes.
