Joanna Coupland

One of my first memories of being creative involved getting my hands dirty creating Paper Mache animals with my mum and sister, however our outcomes never screamed out sophisticated likes Joanna’s do. I was instantly drawn to the quirky characteristics she incorparate’s into each sculpture. Her wire structures are full of shapes and the vibrant coloured tissue paper contrasted with found objects like flowers and seed beads makes each piece completely unique. All of Joanna Coupland’s work is handmade in her home studio in York, and we are very proud to showcase this talented Yorkshire artist in the gallery.
