Issy White

Issy has been making jewellery for over two decades.

She initially studied Photography at Bournemouth Arts Institute. After graduating with a BA she enrolled on various evening courses for jewellery and silversmithing. When she realised that was where her heart lay, she attended Holts Jewellery Academy in Hatton Garden for further training.

All Issy’s work begins outdoors. She forage’s for fragments of textured tree bark, which form the basis of her jewellery. She then uses the traditional technique of lost wax casting to turn the cuttings into handcrafted contemporary jewellery.

The organic texture of tree bark is central to her work. Issy’s pieces are designed to respect the bark’s natural aesthetic and explore the fascinating irregularity and connectivity of nature.

Issy works with three type of metal silver, bronze and gold and you wil quite often see hidden sparkling rich gemstones like sapphires, diamonds and tourmalines sparkling away in the organic textures.
