Learn how to set Kite shape and a baguette Diamond or Sapphire With Barbora Rybarova in gold and silver
Create a wonderful mix metal Pendant featuring salt and pepper diamonds and sapphires, in this two day workshop with contemporary jewellery designer Barbora Rybarova.
Join Barbora for a two day jewellery course where you’ll be learning a series of challenging stone setting techniques in silver and 9ct yellow gold and be heating up diamonds and sapphires once they are set.
Day 1
We will be starting this workshop by creating a kite shaped setting. Barbora will demonstrate how to create this complex shape in 9ct yellow gold. Once we have created our kite shape we will then demonstrate soldering the gold bezel onto a silver backing. Once we have finished our kite shaped setting we will then demonstrate our second setting a baguette. We will be creating the walls in 9ct yellow gold, scoring and folding the gold to create that perfect shape. Once you have achieved this we will then solder this onto the silver.
Day 2
We will have finished both of our settings and we will start the workshop with a demonstration on setting our diamonds and sapphires in each setting. Emily and Barbora will help you set your stones, so each bezel is finished to a high standard. Once our stones are set, this is when we will be doing something completely different to anything we have done before. We will be heating up our stones that have already been set and soldering either or bezels together or kinetic links to each setting to create a eye catching pendant.
