Angular Brooch and Stone Setting With Ellen Monaghan, Two Day Workshop New
We are pleased to be welcoming one of our favourite jewellers back to the gallery Ellen Monaghan to teach another fantastic workshop.
This time we will be creating our very own angular shapes, firstly experimenting by drawing with copper wire, using pliers and scoring and folding techniques. We will then replicate the copper shapes we are pleased with in silver square wire. Our shapes will aim to have a three dimensional form that can very easily be worn as a brooch. You will then get to choose a faceted semi precious stone of your choice to incorporate into your design. We will learn how to bezel set these. Once you have created your brooch design and finished the stone setting Ellen and Emily will then guide you through the process of creating a traditional single or double steel pin brooch finding.
