Rachel Thornton

We are delighted to be showcasing local artist Rachel Thornton in our Summer exhibition “Beneath the Trees”, alongside Kate Boyce. 

Both artists are inspired by the Yorkshire Landscape and Rachel captures her drawings by using printing techniques like dry point etching which are then transferred onto Indian Khadi Paper or Birch Plywood. 

She has created a new body of work based around Wild Swimming which has become a popular activity recently, which we are displaying alongside her knotted woodland prints in a variation of sizes. 

This Autumn we will also be doing our very first workshop with Rachel Thornton, where you can learn some of her unique printing techniques and encapsulate these in Silver to create your very own unique brooch. Please head over to our workshop section to find out more
