Learn the Intricate Jewellery technique Saw Piercing, as well as Polishing and Frosting with Emily Knight

Learn how to draw into metal using a saw and create intricate detailed patterns in copper or brass.

Emily Knight will guide you through this one day workshop showing you how to use a jewellers saw to create curved intricate patterns.

We will be focusing on beginners jewellery techniques initially by learning how to add a jewellers saw blade into the frame to then  create the perfect tension that you need for saw piecing out detailed shapes. Once we have established this we will then move onto drilling holes so you can thread your saw through the whole to crate inner shapes.

You will create a 20cm square wall piece which has all been pierced out by hand, following either one of your drawings or one of Emily’s simplified botanical drawings, that she will bring along to the workshop.

By the end of the workshop you will have mastered the saw piercing technique and also of had a quick introduction into polishing and frosting metal.

This workshop is perfect for beginners and all jewellery levels.
