Emma Williams

Emma Williams is one of our new potters exhibiting in our “Beneath The Trees” summer exhibition.

We are delighted to be working with Emma Williams a Nottingham based ceramicist which we feel echoes the raw textures often found in nature.

Emma’s inspiration comes from observing the natural world and her fond memories of beach combing and Rock pooling when she was a child to things she see’s around her from day to day such as lichen growing on a stone wall.

Personally I am drawn to Emma’s work due to her inspiration’s and with the gallery been based in the Yorkshire Dales. A number of visitors explore this area by foot and when you are out on the hillside you will often find interesting textures between the limestone pavement’s and drystone walls very close to what Emma has captured in her internal crackled glazed effect.

We love displaying her miniature vessels in a variation of sizes in the gallery and find the simplicity of her hand thrown shape very pleasing with her rich glazed colours.
