SUMMARY:Chasing and Repousse with Cathy Sutherland – Intermediate
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to be welcoming jeweller Cathy Sutherland back this summer to teach her specialist jewellery technique Chasing a Repousse. This is one of the oldest jewellery techniques and the perfect way of incorporating high relief patterned texture to precious metals.\nYou will learn how to use a number of specialist chasing and repousse tools throughout this course, as well as learning how to heat up pitch. We will spend the day creating a series of patterns and textures in silver and copper using different punches and hammers, hopefully achieving marks that are inspired by natural forms found at Bentham Golf Club.\nYou will walk away with six metal samples and the option to purchase chasing and repousse tools if you wish to carry on this specialist jewellery technique at home.\nLunch and all materials are included in this workshop.\nYou will receive a reminder email from Emily the week before this workshop starts which will include more information about the course.\n \n
