SUMMARY:Create a Silver, Copper Or Brass Trinket Box with Silversmith Sally Cox
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to create a very special copper, brass or silver trinket box with silversmith Sally Cox. You will have the option to create a square box or a rounded one.\nIn this two day workshop we will start by measuring the metal we need to create our very own trinket boxes. We will have two pieces one for the bottom and one for the lid. Once the metal has been cut to size, we will then show you how to start annealing the metal and forming it using stakes and hammers. During the first day we will really focus on shaping the box using hammers and focus on the process of annealing. Once we have created the perfect shape for the base we will then start working on the lid. Our aim is to create that perfect lip on the lid that when we close the box we hear a lovely click sound.\nOn Day two we will continue working on our lids and once we have finished this we will demonstrate two finishing processes one planishing and one polishing, you will also have the option of oxidising your box too.\n \nWhat you will learn \nSaw piercing metal\nhow to manipulate metal using stakes and hammers\nAnnealling ( heating up metal using a big blow torch)\npolishing\nfiling\nAlso scoring and folding if you choose to create a square box.\n \nCapability\nThis workshop is for all capabilities.\n \nWhat’s Included \nMaterials (Please note the price is for making a box in copper or brass.
